- How long have you been doing CrossFit? What got you started? I've been doing CrossFit since April 2022. I can't believe it's been almost 2 years. I started doing CrossFit because I was interested in the sport and loved watching old Games events. I also thought that having a GPP program was what I needed to become capable and healthy as I got older.
- What aspect of our core values of authentic, driven, and inclusive do you relate to the most? Why? Being authentic is the core value I relate to the most. I enjoy the authenticity of our community and how everyone feels like they can be themselves around each other. It's really refreshing to be myself around other people and have them accept you for who you are.
- What do you most look forward to when you come to the gym? The thing I look forward to the most when coming to the gym is working hard with my friends and community. It is very rewarding to be a part of something in which people take valuable time out of their day to prioritize their health and well-being.
- What is your favourite memory at All Level CrossFit? My favourite memory at All Level CrossFit was meeting my human. The first time we met she had just gotten back from a hiking trip to Arizona and just came by to chat on the turf (like we do). Fast forward a few weeks and she asked me for my number... Robyn asked coach Steph for my number. Now we workout together most days and I have the opportunity to continue making memories.
- What goals have you set for yourself in CrossFit that you’ve successfully achieved? There have been a couple goals that I've successfully achieved in CrossFit. These are things like a strict handstand push-up, a bar muscle up, and a 135 pound snatch. My current goals are building off things that I've already achieved. I would like a ring muscle up, 185 pound snatch and to make quarterfinals. I fully anticipate that eventually I will accomplish these things and have to update my goals.
- What advice do you have for someone who’s on the fence about starting CrossFit? What I would tell someone who is on the fence about starting CrossFit is, "You're health is your wealth and your fitness is you're freedom".
- How has your experience at improved your life outside of the gym? Currently my life outside of the gym has a lot to do with my life inside the gym. Most of my friends go to the gym and so does my partner Robyn. Robyn and I live together with our dog Bernie and our friends from the gym helped us move and settle in to our new place. We plan on going to competitions together in the future, competed together in the past and occasionally on Thursdays go out for wings.
